Alfred Enoch and Rebekah Murrell to star in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Initial casting has been announced for Ola Ince’s upcoming revival of Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Romeo and Juliet fall in love. Romeo and Juliet die. It’s not a spoiler. It’s written in the stars. Final. Finite. But what if it isn’t?

Alfred Enoch (Tree – Young Vic) will play Romeo and Rebekah Murrell (Nine Nights – National Theatre | Trafalgar Studios) will play Juliet. Rounding out the cast are Beth Cordingly as Lady Capulet, Will Egerton as Tybalt, Adam Gillen as Mercutio, Jacob Hughes, Clara Indrani as Montague, Zoe West as Benvolio, Dwane Walcott as Paris, and Sargon Yelda as Friar.

The piece will be directed by award-winning theatre, film, and opera director Ola Ince who oversaw the hit revival of Appropriate at Donmar Warehouse and was the International Associate Director of Tina Turner the Musical; creating, casting and directing the productions in London, Hamburg, Broadway and Utrecht alongside Phyllida Lloyd; from 2018 to 2020.
