Life is an upcoming science fiction horror film directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House).

A crew aboard the International Space Station perform a successful capture of a space probe returning from Mars with a sample inside. The crew is tasked with studying the sample, which may be the first proof of extraterrestrial life. However, the study eventually backfires as the organism gains intelligence. Trapped aboard the ISS with the rapidly-growing organism, the crew must find out how to kill it before it manages to escape and decimate Earth.

Ariyon Bakare (Jupiter Ascending, The Dark Knight) has been cast as Hugh Derry a microbiologist whose job it is to examine an organism brought back from Mars… Recalling when he first read the script, Bakare says, “I had this visceral, immediate reaction to it… I have my own personal journey with it.”

Bakare has recently wrapped on the second series of BBC’s, Doctor Foster due to air later this year. Recently audiences have seen Ariyon in crime drama, New Blood and as ‘Chief Supt David Burridge’ in Marnie Dickens’ mini-series Thirteen.
