IT TASTES LIKE HOME A musical about Family, Food and Belonging @ Bread & Roses Theatre, Clapham 13th-15th October 7pm

“When I was young, AM was Dumplings.PM was Fish and Chips. When I was Older, AM was plantain. PM walnut whip.”

It Tastes Like Home is a romantic comedy musical set in London exploring a love story between British Jamaican, Camilla and Yi of Chinese descent. As their tentative relationship evolves, can they balance their two worlds of family, culture and values?

Backed by a soundtrack fused with reggae and Chinese influences, this unique and feel-good multicultural musical explores what ‘home’ looks like when you come from another place and whether two cultures can ever really be in harmony when it comes to beliefs, identity but most importantly food.

It Tastes Like Home was first devised as part of the MA Musical Theatre course through Goldsmiths and its original 45 minute version enjoyed a sell-out run when it premiered at the Tristan Bates Theatre in September 2016.

This version of It Tastes Like Home will premiere at the Clapham Fringe at the Bread and Roses Theatre on the 13th-15th October at 7pm. Book tickets here.
