Wardrobe Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties:

▪️Assist the Head and Deputy Head Of Wardrobe to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances.
▪️ Assist the Head and Deputy Head Of Wardrobe on any day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production.
▪️ Support team members in teaching workroom skills.
▪️ Assist the Head and Deputy Head Of Wardrobe to teach new members of staff, deps and local dressers and wardrobe maintenance staff and work closely with theatre staff at the touring venues to ensure the smooth running of the production and safe handling of costumes.
▪️ Perform daily setup and Wardrobe pre-sets.
▪️Ensure an awareness of understudy and swing performances ahead of each show and make necessary adjustments.
▪️Maintain and clean costumes so they are in working order for each performance.
▪️Conduct costume fittings when required to do so.
▪️Learn and execute the tracks backstage for the Wardrobe Department.
▪️Attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required.
▪️Maintaining, cleaning and repairing Costumes as instructed and dictated by the artistic requirements and under the direction of the Head and Deputy Head Of Wardrobe, Production Manager and Resident Creative Team.
▪️Handle any problems that occur during performances quickly and calmly.
▪️Report and feedback show and staff-related issues in a timely manner.
▪️Work in accordance with the Health And Safety Policy and maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation and good working practices.
▪️Liaise closely with Disney’s Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the Health And Safety Policy is followed.
▪️Work closely and in conjunction with the Company Manager.


▪️ Ability to remain focused and calm when under pressure.
▪️ Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills with cast, creative and production team essential.
▪️ Excellent problem-solving skills and use of own initiative.
▪️ A full awareness of the need for integrity and confidentiality.
▪️ Extensive knowledge of costume construction and ability to sew and alter garments.
▪️ Have an understanding of different materials and components including Silk, Spandex, fabric surface painting, beading and zippers.
▪️Knowledge of laundering and maintaining stage costumes.
▪️Experience in a similar role within a large-scale musical production working with an international cast is highly desirable.
