The general synopsis is – the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past / Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he meets Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force.

As usual we get not much in regards to the plot. Speculation still abounds… but this is what me and my novice brain got from it.

First and foremost fast forward to John Boyega’s bits. We see Finn awake and fighting fit – the first teaser clip of course showed Finn in a medically induced coma. In this trailer we see him in full fighter mode, in battle with it looks like his old boss Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie).

We see a new colour in the white light-saber waved by Rey (Daisy Ridley) who is undoubtedly getting her lady Jedi Master on. She’s also in the presence of her mentor Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) who’s in full wise old man mentor mode. We’re also still not sure if Skywalker is Rey’s dad…

There’s a shot of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) aboard a resistance ship which looks like it’s about to get blown up, which if it does, will be the write out because of Fisher’s untimely passing.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) is visible in full Dark Side mode… and full of revenge of course because Rey scarred him last time around. There’s a bit where Rey and Kylo are in each other’s presence which is interesting because if speculation is correct and Rey is Luke’s daughter, then that would make Rey and Kylo cousins as Kylo is Princess Leia’s son. Let’s safely assume these two find out their connection once and for all…

No glimpse of Lupita’s Maz Kanata…

Chewbacca is alive and well with a new cute alien weird thingamyfriend. Poe (Oscar Isaac) is also shown… and that’s really all I have.

Fun Facts: British black actors listed as supporting cast are Crystal Clarke – role unknown, Aki Omoshaybi plays a Resistance Bridge Officer and Karanja Yorke plays a Praetorian Guard.
