Red Rose – Monday 15th August @ 10pm | BBC Three

During a long hot summer following their GCSE exams, a group of Bolton students find their friendships infiltrated by the Red Rose app, which blooms on their smartphones, threatening them with dangerous consequences if they fail to meet its demands. The app exposes the group to a seemingly supernatural entity and the seductive, terrifying power of the dark web. Horror, starring Isis Hainsworth and Samuel Anderson.

Hitsville: The Making of Motown – Tuesday 16th August @ 9pm | Sky Documentaries

Looking back at the iconic history of one of the greatest record labels in history, Motown Records. The film focuses specifically on the period beginning with the birth of Motown in Detroit in 1958, until its relocation to Los Angeles in the early 1970s. Featuring exclusive interviews with legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy, and rare behind-the-scenes footage from his personal archives.

Imagine: Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise – Tuesday 16th August @ 10pm | BBC Four

A portrait of the trail-blazing activist, poet and writer, who was captured on film just before she died in 2014, combining her words with rare photographs and videos. The film reveals hidden episodes of Maya Angelou’s exuberant life during some of America’s defining moments, from her upbringing in the Depression-era South to her work with Malcolm X in Ghana, and her inaugural speech for President Bill Clinton.

DNA Journey – Wednesday 17th August @ 10:45pm | ITV

The return of the show in which celebrities explore their family histories using DNA technology and genealogy, beginning with The Chase stars Anne Hegerty and Shaun Wallace. The duo discover where they come from and unearth secrets from their past in a life-changing and emotional voyage of discovery, as well as coming face to face with living relatives they never before knew existed.

True Life Crime UK – Wednesday 17th August @ 10pm | MTV

MTV correspondent Linda Adey investigates chilling true crime cases. Her search for the truth leads to shocking discoveries. Linda Adey searches for answers about the tragic death of Blessing Olusegun who was found dead on a beach in Bexhill, East Sussex.

Rap Trip: Underground Scenes Uncovered – Thursday 18th August @ 11pm | BBC Three

A rap documentary series with The Rap Game UK contestants FOS and Ransom as they discover underground rap scenes in a kitted-out yellow camper van. Rappers FOS and Ransom travel to Liverpool to learn about Scouse Rap. They meet a 16-year-old female drill artist and a rapper from the Wirral who raps about his autism.

33 Families, One Big Build – Friday 19th August @ 7:30pm | BBC One

The story of 33 families in Yorkshire who have decided to address the problem of rising house prices by working together to build their own street. The ambitious venture is not without its problems as every decision must be agreed upon, but for David who’s lived in Leeds all his life, Bill and Ali, who are retiring one mile down the road, and Becky and Ruth, who want to move in together it’s a dream they are desperate to see come true. Narrated by Martelle Edinborough.

Pimp My Ride – Friday 19th August | MTV’s Youtube Channel & eBay

The new six-part digital series, featuring 15-minute episodes, hosted by British rapper Lady Leshurr, with car transformations carried out by one-stop-auto shop Wrench Studios and where possible, supplies provided by eBay’s dedicated car parts and accessories division.

Queens Of Disco – Saturday 20th August @ 10pm | BBC Two

Profiling the careers of some of the greatest names in disco music, including Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, Grace Jones and Chaka Khan.
