On Sunday 27th September, winners for this year’s The Stage Debut Awards were revealed via an online awards ceremony hosted by &Juliet star Miriam-Teak Lee.

The awards, which aim to highlight breakthrough talent and help cement their position in the industry, are split into 8 categories: Best Performer in a Play, Best Performer in a Musical, Best Director, Best Designer, Best Composer, Best Writer, Best West End Debut Performer, and Best Creative West End Debut. 

This year’s winners include Rachel Nwokoro (Little Baby Jesus, Orange Tree Theatre) for Best Performer in a Play, Temi Wilkey (The High Table, Bush Theatre) for Best Writer, Shan Ako (Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre) for Best Performer in a Musical and Femi Temowo (Death of a Salesman and Three Sisters)for Best Creative West End Debut.   

Other shortlisted talent includes Saida Ahmed (Little Miss Burden, The Bunker) and Khai Shaw (Little Baby Jesus, Orange Tree Theatre) for Best Performer in a Play, Wendell Pierce (Death of a Salesman, Piccadilly Theatre) for Best West End Debut Performer and Nadia Latif (Fairview, Young Vic Theatre) for Best Creative West End Debut.
