Dance Umbrella is a festival with a bee in its bonnet for taking contemporary dance to surprising spaces and delivering it to receptive, culture-seeking audiences around the capital.
Dance Umbrella continues this week with a final performance on Saturday 28th October and will broaden what you know, think and feel about contemporary dance.

We earmarked Out of The System hosted at London’s RichMix Theatre in Shoreditch for our festival foray. A collection of works curated by East London-born choreographer, performer and Artistic Director, Freddie Opoku-Addaie.
An ingenious, intimate and disarming mix of works featuring Yinka Esi Graves, Asha Thomas, La Macana, Sello Pesaadn and Alesandra Seutin.
Freddie captured our imagination as we wandered through performance spaces before a surprising musical ending by Kioko and Yaaba Funk. We sang. Shouted, even. All on a Tuesday night.

DOT by Cia Maduixa
Cia Maduixa mixes together this hi-tec lo-fi dance theatre gem for children. It is as mind-bogglingly clever as it is charming. A choreographic playground of wonder and discovery. Dot revolves around worlds of light, colour and imagination blending a sequence of precise digital projections.
It was inspired by the work of an American artist called Sol Lewitt, who was linked to various movements including Conceptual art and Minimalism.
