Before becoming Artistic Director of the Unicorn Theatre, the UK’s leading professional theatre dedicated to producing inspiring and invigorating work for young audiences, Justin Audibert had established himself as a director, collaborating with organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Soho Theatre.
Over lockdown, Audibert’s calendar continued to be fully-booked as he directed the short film Joseph Knight for the National Theatre of Scotland and BBC Scotland, and wrote and directed the three episodes of Anansi the Spider Re-spun for the Unicorn Theatre Online and The Guardian.
We caught up with Justin to find out what it’s been like running a theatre during a global pandemic, and to find out more about the return of Anansi the Spider Re-spun to the Unicorn Theatre as part of its Black History Month programme.
Anansi the Spider Re-spun is now available to watch via the Unicorn Theatre’s Youtube Channel. Find out more here.
