Director Ava DuVernay speaks to The British Blacklist about Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time

What makes A Wrinkle In Time so special is that Ava & team have embedded themes of love & positivity in a contemporary film aimed at young people.

A Wrinkle in Time is adapted from Madeleine L’Engle’s YA novel of the same name. The story follows Meg Murry (Storm Reid) and her little brother, Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe) whose scientist father, Mr. Murry (Chris Pine) has been gone for four years ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there.

Joined by Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe (Levi Miller) and guided by three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit (Reece Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling) and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.

A Wrinkle in Time also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Zach Galifianakis and comes to UK cinemas 23rd, March 2018
