Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner return to host both competitions, which will be judged by award-winning artist Tai Shan Schierenberg, independent curator Kathleen Soriano, and Art historian Kate Bryan.
Portrait Artist of the Year will once again film at The Wallace Collection in London in April 2017. Landscape Artist of The Year will film at various stunning locations around the UK in June and July 2017.

Sky Arts Artist of the Year has two deadlines.
- Portrait Artist of the Year deadline is Monday 6th March 2017.
- Landscape Artist of the Year deadline is Friday April 28th 2017
