Film Submissions Now Open For 14th Edition of DANCESCREEN. Deadline to Enter 31st January 2016

frameFRAME: The London Dance Film Festival will take place in June 2016 offering an opportunity for creative talent in the arts, dance and film worlds to share experience, show work, learn from other artists and enjoy the best that dance and dance film offers.

The festival feature cutting edge new films alongside established favourites, with a programmes, from dancescreen and FRAME, created to appeal to all including film, tv and media industries, dance enthusiasts and those who enjoy watching dance.

Alongside the screening programmes FRAME and dancescreen will provide Industry panel discussions, workshops and seminars that share experience of established professionals alongside exciting newcomers. Aimed as much at the practitioners as the broadcasters, exhibitors and programmers, all events will provide an opportunity for those who enjoy the arts and those who want to promote them further, to experience the wealth of film talent that exists in dance.

For the first edition of FRAME they have teamed up with the International Music & Media Centre (IMZ) and their celebrated bi-annual dance film competition, dancescreen.

The team are now calling for submissions for both competitive content, to be screened in the dancescreen competition at FRAME and non-competitive content which will be screened as part of the festival programme.

The deadline to enter your work for both is 31 January 2016. and they are looking for all work that showcases dance and movement on film from documentaries to music videos. From graphic designs to fictional narratives, the festival covers all forms of dance in film, dance on film and dance film.

Submission guidelines:

Due to its long tradition, dimension, effect and impact dancescreen is the most prestigious international competition among the dance film and video festivals. The submission for the dance films in the catagories:

  • Live performance relay and camera re-work | Animation | Screen choreography – (up to 5 minutes, up to 15 minutes and over 15 minutes) will be open from 2 November 2015 – 31 January 2016.
  • The dancescreen Awards for “Best Film”, “Best Student Film” and 2016 as a special the “Technical Innovation Award (Muybridge Award)” will be announced at 12 June during FRAME- The London dance film festival.
  • Additionally, in each category a much-appreciated distinction is given. Many awarded or nominated films and videos directly found their way to a TV slot.
