Jamaican born Wayne Gordon is hitting his stride as an actor.
Before settling into acting, Gordon joined the military, became a sportsman, and then a stuntman. Drawing on the inspiration of two of his favourite actors – Lee Majors and Bruce Lee he soon however, realised acting was his calling and went on to land a role in popular TV series Spooks, and hasn’t looked back since.
His latest projects include Miss Willoughby alongside Kelsey Grammer and Us or Them alongside Malin Akerman. Gordon’s also dabbled in the gaming world.
With such a varied career Wayne Gordon was someone we wanted to get to know …
Who are you?
I’m Wayne Gordon; I was born and raised in Jamaica until the age of 10 before moving to the UK. At 16 years old, I joined the military through a challenge and ended up serving for 6 years; in my final years of service, I became an army physical training instructor, which I continued with the Met Police after I left the army.
What do you do?
I’m an actor, fitness coach, I’m Doom in Sky 1’s Gladiator series, and I was a former Bobsledder for Great Britain.
What’s your latest project?
I’ve recently finished working in the Caribbean with director Philippe Martinez on a fantastic project called Black Noise. The story is about an elite security team deployed and led by me, who are sent to rescue a VIP on an exclusive island. The rescue mission becomes a desperate attempt to survive, escape the island and elude the sinister presence that seeks to harm them.

What are you watching?
I’ve just finished 1893 and 1923 and am now about to jump into the Yellowstone series. The actors are amazing, and I love the timeline of the families at war with each other.
What are you reading?
I’m reading books by Bernard Cornwell, The Winter King, and Jordan Peterson, 12 more Rules for Life.
What are you listening to?
What I listen to depends on my mood it can stem from modern jazz, classical music to 90’s 2000 R&B and heart-thumping music when exercising.
Whose footsteps are you following in?
I wouldn’t say I’m following in anyone’s footsteps because all my favourite actors are unique. I like Charlie Chaplin, Clint Eastwood, Richard Harris, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and then you have the man himself, Jon Berenthal; if there is one footstep I could follow, it would be him. Jon possesses all the qualities to be such an outstanding and versatile actor.
My long-time partner Jenny and I recently tied the knot in Cape Town, South Africa. So, having recovered from the wedding and honeymoon blues, there are a number of films where I starred as a supporting lead that I am eagerly waiting for their release this year; Us or Them starring Malin Akerman (Billions). Ocean Deep starring Connie Neilson (Gladiator). Fear the Invisible Man starring Mhairi Calvey (Braveheart).
