Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Black Mirror Episode ‘San Junipero’ Gets Official 80s Soundtrack

Written by series creator Charlie Brooker the 3rd Black Mirror series premiered on Netflix, 21 October 2016. San Junipero starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the coming-of-age love story raved by fans and critics alike as being the favourite out of the 6 episodes.

Set in the 80s, the 4th episode out of the series boasts a brilliant 80s soundtrack which has now been made available for our listening pleasure!!!

The story follows a shy young woman Yorkie (Mackenzie Davis) and an outgoing party girl Kelly (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) who live in a small seaside town, and strike up a powerful bond that seems to defy the laws of space and time.

Brooker revealed that the song. “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” by Belinda Carlisle (which plays over the end credits of the episode) was included after he heard it on a 1987 playlist in Spotify after he started writing the script.
