Also included on Microsoft’s roster was arguably one of the games of the show – Bioware’s Anthem which featured stunning footage and immersive multiplayer gameplay.

You experience a rich, vivid open world that you can explore cooperatively which is sure to whet the appetite of Titanfall and Destiny fans.

Donning a type of super charged exo suit, you jet around a vast and hazardous free-roaming landscape populated with all types of hostile creatures that you can engage with whenever you choose.

The flying alone looks exhilarating and definitely adds a new dimension to shooters.

Anthem is expected to be launched on Xbox One, PC and PS4 in the autumn 2018.

If Anthem was one of the games of the show then 4A Games Metro Exodus was right up there with it; wowing fans with its jaw dropping gameplay trailer and allowing the Xbox One X to once again flex its unquestionable potential.

For those unfamiliar with the Metro series it is inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky and is a first person shooter very much in the survival horror mould.

Playing as Artyom the main protagonist, your main focus is to explore across a vast open world environment set within a post apocalyptic theme and, from the looks of the trailer it definitely seems to be raising the bar aesthetically.

It’s easy to see why people are getting so excited and are already looking forward to its release in 2018.
