Success Talks is an organisation which aims to change the mindset of young individuals throughout the UK and beyond. By creating a unique platform and working with specific organisations they help fix and challenge issues which affect young people today as well as encouraging diversity.
Success Talks’ focus is working in three areas to promote initiatives and ideas to raise aspirations among young people with a particular focus on under-represented individuals of black, Asian and minority ethnicity.
- Work in partnership with schools and other organisations to provide skills and experience days in areas such as coding, entrepreneurship and media to encourage young people of the wide range of options available to them.
- Create bespoke events which focus on issues prevalent in today’s society as well as providing innovative and exciting experiences for attendees.
- Develop initiatives and strategies for companies who are working on projects which involve people from under-represented backgrounds.
Success Talks has arranged an exciting weekly series with some of the most successful individuals in the UK and abroad.

SPEAKER: Ken Olisa will be taking to the Success Talks stage to share his pearls of wisdom and experience with the audience. Ken is Founder and Chairman of Restoration Partners, the boutique technology merchant bank. Ken’s technology career spans over 30 years commencing with IBM from whom he won a scholarship while at Cambridge University. At IBM he held various posts in systems engineering, sales and marketing, before joining Wang Laboratories in 1981. Following a period as Marketing Director for Europe, Vice President of US Marketing and then of Worldwide Marketing, Ken was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wang Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

SPEAKER: Walter White is a partner at McGuireWoods law firm. His work consists of multinational securities transactions, international business and finance law issues, and complex litigation and related arbitration. He has published books and articles on multinational business activity and lectured in North America, Europe, Central Asia and Africa, and is a regular commentator for the BBC on U.S. and international human rights and constitutional affairs. While earning his law degree from Berkeley Law, Walter was a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert F. Peckham of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Upon graduation from Amherst College, he was named a John Woodruff Simpson Fellow.

SPEAKER: Tom Shropshire will be on the Success Talks stage sharing his journey so far. Tom is a corporate partner and co-head of Linklaters’ newly established Operational Intelligence Group, which focuses on risk, regulation and governance. Tom has significant experience in M&A and equity capital markets transactions in the United States, Europe and South Africa, having acted as the lead U.S. adviser on a number of high profile and complex transactions in recent years. He also provides U.S. corporate law and SEC-reporting advice to a number of the firm’s largest clients. Tom is also chair of the firm’s Corporate Responsibility Committee.

SPEAKER: Adrian Joseph – Managing Director at Google. He works in the Customer Solutions and Innovation team for Northern and Central Europe. Joseph was previously Managing Director of Google Enterprise for Europe, Middle East and Africa and has also worked in the Mobile, Display and YouTube businesses.He joined Google seven years ago with fifteen years of sales, marketing and general management experience gained within industry and management consultancy. Prior to Google, he spent six years at Ford Motor Company in Sales and Brand Management roles in Europe, was a Principal Consultant at A.T Kearney and was on the main Board of Trafficmaster Plc. In January 2012, he was appointed Chair of Race for Opportunity, the race campaign of Business in the Community, a Prince of Wales charity which stands for responsible business and strives to ensure that all ethnic groups are appropriately reflected in the UK workforce.
