Even though confirmed since 2014, the wait for the Incredibles 2 film is finally over. Over a decade after the original film, The Incredibles was released back in 2004 the sequel was expected but didn’t surface.
But, good news legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson who voiced The Incredibles’, only black (and the coolest – all the puns intended) character took to his Instagram page to post a teaser picture of him in the recording studio, with the caption:
“It’s about to go down… First recording session for…. INCREDIBLES 2!!!”
The original Pixar film told the story of married superheroes Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) who are forced to live normal lives as Bob and Helen Parr after all super-powered activities have been banned by the government. While Mr. Incredible loves his wife and kids, he longs to return to a life of adventure, and he gets a chance when summoned to an island to battle an out-of-control robot. Soon, Mr. Incredible is in trouble, and it’s up to his family to save him.
The Incredibles premiered at the 2004 BFI London Film Festival. The animation went on to win a slew of awards including two Oscars, and grossed $633 million worldwide.
The Incredibles 2 is currently in production and will be a sequel, although the actual plot, again written & directed by Brad Bird (Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) has not been revealed. The film is set to be released in 2018.
The Incredibles 2 is produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
