ScreenSkills Pro-Create is a year-long mentoring programme for Black Film Producers within the framework of the educational strand for S.O.U.L. Fest 2021. The ScreenSkills Pro-Create Mentoring Programme will commence Monday 8th, February 2021.

The programme will select a cohort of 50 Black mentees who will be matched with 10 Black mentors from within the Film and High End TV industry, working together in safe spaces to allow their project to live and breathe without cultural restraints. The mentees will be given opportunities through the festival to platform and showcase their talent. The programme will cover topics such as – Finance, Development, Pitching, Sales, Exhibition and Distribution. In these 60-90 minute sessions, industry professionals will discuss key insights into the full lifecycle of producing.

Successful applicants will be asked to pay the programme fee of only £50 for the year. (Please note this is the programme fee only and will not give you free access to any charged events run by ourselves or any of our partners.)

We acknowledge that for some the past year has brought new financial challenges that may limit your ability to join this mentoring scheme. Please submit your bursary application along with your application form for a discount.

About S.O.U.L. Fest
S.O.U.L. (Screening Our Unseen Lives) Film Festival, a.k.a. S.O.U.L. Fest, is a celebration of Black British talent in film, showcasing new work and allowing the opportunity to see a diverse representation of Black Britain. S.O.U.L. Fest was co-founded by four organisations (S.O.U.L. Film, We Are Parable, The British Blacklist & The New Black Film Collective – TNBFC) in 2019 where it was hosted at BFI Southbank for a weekend. On the back of that successful debut, the following year it ran for a month virtually on BFI Player due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
