Charlie’s Angels is back with a woman director and younger lead cast.
Elizabeth Banks, better known for her TV acting work (Scrubs, 30 Rock and Modern Family) is getting more comfortable in the director’s chair. With 2015’s Pitch Perfect 2 as her directorial debut, Banks returns with the latest Charlie’s Angels reboot.
‘Sabina Wilson‘ (Kristen Stewart), ‘Elena Houghlin‘ (Naomi Scott), and ‘Jane Kano‘ (Ella Balinska) are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world’s smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere.
Based on the 2000 version which itself was based on the 70s series, Charlie’s Angels 2019 has been remixed to suit a younger woman championing women audience. Banks also wrote the screenplay and stars as ‘Bosley‘ handler of our new set of Angels.
Ella Balinska is the daughter of Jamaican-British celebrity chef Lorraine Pascale and Polish entrepreneur Kazimierz Balinski-Jundzill. Charlie’s Angels is her debut feature, after her lead role in TV series Athena. Djimon Hounsou also stars as another ‘Bosley‘.
Charlie’s Angels comes to UK cinemas November 29th November 2019.
