SUBMIT to CBBC & BBC Worldwide’s First Animation Pilot Scheme ‘ANIM8’. Deadline Friday January 22nd 2016

Do you have the new Strange Hill High, Gumball or Adventure Time?
If so, this is the challenge for you!

In collaboration with BBC Worldwide, CBBC has launched a brand new animation initiative, an amazing opportunity to develop the next generation of UK animation giants.

This exciting partnership will offer UK innovators the chance to pitch for funded development. With time, this will lead to the creation of a range of UK animated properties that have genuine global appeal.

What They Are Looking For?cbbc_bbc_worldwide_anim8

New content which is original, character driven, fast-paced, funny and has great kid appeal. Compelling content that is energetic, unpredictable and up-beat with a unique take on contemporary life.

The characters and storylines need to be appropriate to a global and CBBC audience of 6-12+ year olds. The characters can be human or non-human and should have a mindset similar to our audience. They would encounter relatable situations, however bizarre the world they inhabit!

All ideas must be able to sustain 26 or 52 x short form / 7 / 11 / 22 minute episodes with an innate returnability, and must have both commercial potential and international appeal. They are NOT looking for one hour specials or one-off shows.

All animation styles and techniques are welcome, including mixed-media – to push visual boundaries if the project benefits. However, it is NOT about style over content.

Who can submit?

Pitches from the talented individuals, studios and companies that make the UK animation industry the exciting, vibrant industry it is. So if youˋre an animator, writer, designer, storyboard artist, studio or company with a great idea that has a MINIMUM of 2 broadcast, published or digital credits for commissioned work, you are also eligible to submit.

Please be aware that the rights holder/originator has to be eligible to work in the UK, and ensure that you 100% rights in all the material, including the source material before submitting your project.

You cannot submit any ideas under consideration with other broadcasters. In addition, you cannot re-submit projects or ideas already under consideration or review at CBBC and/or BBC WW, or projects that are re-workings of current or previous ideas or projects that have been submitted to CBBC or BBC WW.

Be sure to check out the FAQs and Terms and Conditions before submitting your work to avoid disappointment.
