What To Watch W/C Monday 3rd July

There are some good oldies like Zulu starring Forrest Whittaker, still celebrating the Windrush era and their impact on Britain watch the doc Black Nurses: The Women Who Saved the NHS and if you are a love island fan and love last year’s India Polack you can catch her alongside the legendary Chris Eubank on Cooking With The Stars.

Shaq – Monday 3rd July @7:50pm | Sky Docs

Documentary series chronicling Shaquille O’Neal’s ascent to superstardom, as a dominant force who won four NBA championships, league MVP honours, and changed basketball. Raised in a military family, Shaquille develops into an indomitable high school and college player, drafted number one overall in 1992 by the Orlando Magic. Despite the team’s success and Shaq’s burgeoning superstardom, it soon becomes clear, however, that his time in Orlando is coming to an end.


The Swarm – Monday 3rd July 10pm | Sky Max

As disturbing events in the world’s oceans mount up, scientists realise that an unknown species could threaten humanity’s fragile existence forever. Starring Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Alexander Karim.


Peacock – Monday 3rd July 10pm | BBC Three

Andy Peacock finds himself in crisis as he begins to realise that his playboy persona and job as a personal trainer are starting to wear thin. Realising that everyone around him is moving on, Andy questions whether he should be trying new things – going for the new Head Trainer role at work or maybe even settling down? Starring Lucien Laviscount and Susan Wokoma.

Eight stars and their chef mentors compete in culinary cook-offs. The famous faces taking part include former boxer Chris Eubank and Love Island star Indiyah Polack.

Two South African police officers, one black and one white, investigate the murder of a teenage girl. The case brings to light the lingering consequences of apartheid, and forces both men to face up to their own roles in their country’s brutal history. Starring Forest Whitaker.


Black Nurses: The Women Who Saved the NHS – Wednesday 5th July @ 9:10pm | BBC Four

The story of the thousands of Caribbean and African women who answered the call more than 70 years ago to come to the UK and help build the National Health Service. Told by the women themselves, the documentary reveals the price they paid in leaving behind their families and examines their struggle to overcome racism and their fight for career progression, as well as their cultural impact here and abroad.


Then You Run – Friday 7th July @ 9pm | Sky Max

Follows a close-knit group of rebellious London teenagers on a getaway in Rotterdam, but after the estranged father of Tara is discovered dead, they find themselves on the run across Europe with three kilos of heroin and a host of deadly criminals snapping at their heels. Starring Vivian Oparah and Yasmin Monet Prince.
