Young Deaf Performers APPLY to Raising the Bar Dance and Music Competition. Deadline Midnight 22nd Feb 2015


Do you love to dance? Perhaps you love a bit of street dance, or ballet! Do you love to play a musical instrument? Or sing? It could even be signed song! If you think you’re good at dance or music and would like to do more performing then this fantastic new competition is just for you!

The prize, is a fantastic two day masterclass on 24-25 May 2015 where you will be able to learn from the best deaf dancers and deaf musicians! Deaf flautist Ruth and deaf pianist Danny will be leading the music class. Deaf dancers Billy and Ava will be leading the dance class!

They will be on hand to meet you and lead a fun workshop. You’ll meet other deaf people who are good at dancing and music too! At the end of the masterclass, there will be an opportunity to perform on a stage and show the world what you can do. Please check with your parents or carers that you are free to attend on these dates.

Runners Up will receive a £25 Amazon Voucher, or Buzz goodies.

Submission Guidelines

  • This competition is open to deaf young people aged 8-16
  • To enter you need to film yourself for between 1 and 2 minutes doing music or dance. It only needs to be a snapshot of what you can do – don’t worry about the quality of the video, it can be done on a mobile phone.
  • You’ll need to upload the video to YouTube and then complete the entry form below. Make sure you have permission from your parent or guardian.
